The reason we are working with Apple computers is because the hardware requirements are lower on a MAC. Also, our tests have proven that the Apple computers perform better with visual content and came to be our personal choice. PC requirements are as follows:

Windows System Requirements for Full HD 1080p and 720p 60 fps Playback:

• Microsoft Windows® XP (Service Pack 2 or later) or Vista
• 3.2 GHz Pentium 4 or faster
• Direct X 9.0c or later
• At least 1 GB of system RAM
• Video card with at least 256MB of RAM

The video unit is capable of providing the following great video formats:

MPEG4 and:

• 1080p = 1920×1080 pixels (16:9), 30 fps, 15 Mbit/s data rate
• 960p = 1280×960 pixels (4:3), 30 fps, 12 Mbit/s data rate
• 720p = 1280×720 pixels (16:9), 60 fps, 15 Mbit/s data rate
• 720p = 1280×720 pixels (16:9), 30 fps, 8 Mbit/s data rate
• WVGA = 848×480 pixels (16:9), 60 fps, 8 Mbit/s data rate

The battery supplied with the product is highly durable and built to last. However, if it needs to be changed, have in mind that all our products are built in modules for easy disassembly and repairs, so you won’t need any special assistance from the manufacturer.

Currently the camera is not sending live video to the ship, but we are working on this as a normal part of developing the TrawlCam. Please, check our news section regularly for updates on our products.
