For how long should the camera be charged?
The camera is delivered tested and partly charged and thus can be used without charging, but to ensure the longest possible operating time, we recommend that you charge the camera before you start using it.
If the camera is totally discharged, it will be fully charged within less then 5 hours.
Can the camera be operated while charging?
While the Charge Box is connected to the TrawlCamera, the TrawlCamera can be switch on by the switch on the Charge Box. Recordings can also be transferred during charging.
There is no switch on the camera. How is it switched on?
The TrawlCamera is switched on by connecting the start-plug on the connector on the back-end of the camera body. The camera has a boot time of approx. 40 sec. When the plug is connected, the light is glowing. When the boot time is gone, the light gives a bright flash.
Can the camera angle be adjusted?
Yes the vertical angle can be adjusted. The camera front can be adjusted in steps from 0deg (strait forward) to 90deg (right down).
How is the light adjusted? Why are two light buttons on the remote control?
The light is adjusted by pressing either of the two buttons repeatedly until the wanted value is shown on the remote control display. Don’t look directly at the light. The two buttons have individual functions if a LED Light unit is used.
How and where is the camera mounted on the trawl?
The camera can be mounted anywhere on the trawl, but the most common places are on top and the sides of the trawl front. The best result is reached when the camera is filming with the water flow. Otherwise turbulence bubbles will disturb the picture.
Make sure the camera wings are thoroughly fastened to the trawl.
How is recording started?
The TrawlCamera is set into recording mode from the remote control. When the remote control is started, it first scans for available units (the remote control is radio-based). When the unit has been found, it can be set into recording mode by pressing the Record/Stop button.
How to see the recordings ?
To see the recordings on the camera, connect the camera via Ethernet to the network port of a computers with FindMe installed on it.
Open FindMe. There you should find a unit called TrawlCamera. Click on that unit, to see its content. This is described in further details in the manual.
No unit is found in FindMe. How can that be?
The TrawlCamera LowLux is Network based. To connect two units on a network, both units must be on the same physical network and in the same IP-address area. The camera has by default the IP-address 192.168.0.123. The computers IP address must be in the range 192.168.0.[1;255], e.g. 192.168.0.124, but not the same as the camera.
If the computer is on an other network, e.g a wireless network, FindMe can search on the wrong network and thus can’t find the unit. To solve this issue, simply turn of the wireless network or disconnect/disable any additional network. temporary
If you want to use the camera on a network with DHCP server, first connect the camera directly to a computer, as described above. When connected to a computer, the camera can be set up as DHCP client from the web-interface.
When I plug the network cable in the computer, it says on the computer screen: Limited connection. What does that mean?
Limited connection is usually indicates that the electrical connection is OK, but some configuration is not right.
